Breaking Rules

There are two rules for people living in Canberra.

Rule 1. You don’t plant your tomatoes until you know the winner of the current year’s Melbourne Cup. (First Tuesday in November)

Rule 2. You don’t turn on your heating until Anzac Day (April 25)

The first rule recognises the fact that frosts continue to occur until early November.

The reasoning behind the second rule is not at all obvious to me.

Today is cold and I want to be warm.

In my house I make the rules. This is one of the many advantages of living alone.

The heat is on.

Sounds like the rules are the same for Harden lol

We plant our tomatoes too early every year…there is always one more frost lol

The Anzac day rule is funny, the Army don’t issue their winter uniform until Anzac day either!
I haven’t put the fire on yet, but I have the electric blanky on 🙂
